Jesus opens the eyes of the blind; In sin to darkness we're all confined; This is not the world that God designed; Because of sin we've all declined; Death is our curse by God assigned; But in His love and grace so kind; Our Christ God's Son in darkness shined; He died and rose to save the blind, and all our sin to cast behind; God's back, He won't again remind; In Christ all greatness is combined; In Him our treasure we must find, and more by Him we'll be refined; As to His love we're more inclined!
No matter how sick by His touch you'll be healed; From sin, death, and hell He's Invincible Shield; On that cross His perfect life He'd yield; Rising up from the grave your salvation He sealed; His glory and power no longer concealed; For your good all His might and love He'll wield; For God in the flesh has been revealed!
Spit in the face – that's full of shame; Christ turns for good – that is His aim; So at the cross – that evil maim; For our own sin He bore the blame, and took what's shame and made it tame – the greatest good the cross became!
That's my King! Do you know Him?!
It's the LORD alone Who opens blind eyes; Therefore this truth our passage cries; Jesus is LORD our text implies; He's God on earth without disguise; He's our infinite prize; He alone is wise; He never lies; And in love and grace size He's got everlasting supplies that will surprise; So don't compromise, but trust in Him and rise to enjoy unimaginable highs!
Plain truth His disciples were slow to discern; So He healed in stages so they could learn; Slowly and gradually their hearts would burn; Their eyes would be open – to Christ they'd turn; That He'd be made known their hearts would yearn!
It's a terrible shame to get spit in your face; But Christ takes the shame and makes it all grace; Sinners made Him blind as they tried His case; And they spit on Him with utter disgrace; Yet He takes every sin and shame so base, and casts it all to a forgotten place; All sin and shame He will erase, and leave you clean without a trace so that God, in Christ, you can embrace; And forever enjoy His amazing grace!
