True disciples will follow the Master; They hate their sin which brings only disaster; They flee to Christ all the faster; Bringing joy and delight to their fearful pastor!
Jesus is worthy to obey, whatever the cost; Compared to Him all is counted as lost; If by trials and fears you're tossed; His mercy and love you'll never exhaust!
Every single sin will keep you from heaven; Not just the bigs ones or the deadly seven; All of them spread like gangrene leaven; Your ability to hear from God they deafen!
But Jesus came to die for all kinds of sin; All the sin that has been and all the sin that's within; Even the sin you can't mention to your kin!
In His name and by His Spirit we gain justification and sanctification to save us from all condemnation and damnation because with God He's given us a new relation in which we'll fall before Him in prostration and elation to give Him all adoration for this great salvation!
He's gracious and merciful, even when we fail; With compassion and tenderness He'll care for the frail; Compared to all others their kindness is pale; For on that cross He brought us to God and lifted the veil!
That's my King! Do you know Him?!
So follow the true God, all others are sad; they're a short lived fad only leading to bad; If you trust them you'll wish you never had; But trust in Jesus alone, and He'll make you glad!
God ordained the Church to help us follow Him alone; He rules her from heaven seated on His throne; Unrepentant sin she must never condone; And if they don't turn she must even disown!
But this is done in hope and love to restore; Even though it's a chore and your insides tore; The goal of it all is to open a door; To welcome the sinner back to praise and adore; The God of heaven with Whom they once were at war!
For God's glory we do this when one's gone amiss; We again long for justice and mercy to kiss; We must dismiss or we would be remiss; But the end goal is the offender's eternal bliss!
We do this because Jesus is just that great; His glory shines forth with unbearable weight; He wants His Church within the straight gate; To be holy and pure more than any gold plate in order that His beauty to the world might translate!
That's my King! That's my King!
