I recently learned that Elisabeth Elliot grew up for the second half of her childhood (from 8-9 years old) in a home in Moorestown, New Jersey, about 12 miles from where I live: 3 Maple Avenue. We took a trip out there to see her old home:

He Grants Us Pleasures None Conceive

Christ Jesus Conquered Every Temptation

He Sovereignly Rules Over All Of Creation

He Hates All Sin – It’s A Vile Degradation

He Calls Us To Fight With Extreme Indignation

So We Won’t Go To Hell Under Fiery Damnation

For Jesus Has Died – Took Our Wrath Separation 

Then Rose Up Alive For Our Justification

By Faith Alone And His Imputation 

We Are Righteous In Him – Our Praise Fascination

Now By His Power We Fight Sin Devastation 

And Love All His People – Our Joyful Obligation

For The God-Man Has Come So There’s No Condemnation

So We Praise And Obey From His Spirit Inspiration!

Christ Jesus Loves And Won’t Despise

His Little Ones Whose Angels’ Eyes

Look To His Father, Their Allies

Ministering Spirits Wise

For Jesus Came, He Lived, He Dies

Under God’s Curse He’d Agonize

The God-Man Died A Death King-Size

Then Rose Death’s End To Finalize

And Save His Sheep Who Strayed With Lies

The One Who’s Lost And To Him Cries

He’ll Find And Save And We’ll Baptize

Rejoicing Shall Take Place With Highs

For Our Father Wills To Rise

All His Children Immortalize

None Shall Perish, Evangelize

For Christ’s Our Everlasting Prize!

Christ Jesus’ Love Is Tough And Right

He Disciplines His Church To Fight

Against All Sin And Evil Blight

So She’ll Be Pure In His Clear Sight

He Died For Sinners, Took God’s Fright

And Bore God’s Everlasting Smite

Then Rose Alive, The World’s True Light

He Rules His Church With Gentle Might

Calls Her To Bind And Loose Contrite

We’ll Be Like Him, Pristine And Bright

These Thoughts With Joy Do Excite

For He’s Our All, Our Great Delight!

Christ Jesus’ Presence Everywhere

Shows He Is God, None Can Compare

Yet In His Gathered Church With Care

In A Special Way He’s There

Judging, Loving, Always Fair

Granting Authority That’s Rare

Gives Binding, Loosing Power There

To Declare Who’s His For They’re

The Ones He Died And Rose To Spare

From All God’s Wrath And Death And Share

With Them New Life And Pleasures Where

There’s Only Joy, Nothing Can Scare

So Worship! Go To Him In Prayer

To Ask Him All That You Would Dare

According To His Will He’ll Share

With You His Gifts, No Mercy Spare!

Christ Jesus Forgave The Greatest Debt

Like Trillions Spent With Deep Regret

He Suffered Grief With Blood-Like Sweat

Then Took God’s Fullest Hell-Fire Threat

And Died So We No Longer Fret

Then He Rose So We Shall Get

Eternal Life All Pleasures Met

In Him For He’s Our Joy Beget

So Now When Others Sin And Threat

And Hurt And Owe Us A Great Debt

We Can Forgive And All Forget

Because Of Christ We’re Free And Set

To Love By All The Grace We Get

For Christ Is All Our Advocate

Because He’s Paid Our Every Debt!
