"That's My King!" In 1 John 4!

Jesus Is The Greatest Prophet Of All
And More Than A Prophet He Stands Tall
He's God And Man Who Took Our Fall
He Died And Rose To Save Us All
He's Truth From Him Do Not Withdraw
Believe And Trust His Spirit's Call
For He's Our God Our Christ Is All!

That's my King!

Jesus Christ In Flesh Appeared
He's God And Man Who Should Be Feared
Instead They Spit And Plucked His Beard
They Mocked And His Good Name They Smeared
Confirmed His Death His Body Speared
He Died And Rose Our Sins He Cleared
All Sin And Shame Have Disappeared
Now God The Son Must Be Revered!

That's my King!

Jesus Christ – Love's Incarnation
God Is Love Our Sure Foundation
In Him We Live – His New Creation
He Died And Rose For Our Salvation
Trust The Son For Transformation
Then You'll Love The Congregation!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him?!

In This Is Love – The Incarnation
God Sent His Son For Our Salvation
Because Of Christ's Propitiation
There Is Therefore Now No Condemnation
He Rose – Our Holy Fascination
So We Love With Pure Elation!

That's my King!

Jesus Is God That Men Have Seen
The Father's Son Who's Pure, Pristine
If You Love In You He's King
His Love's Perfected In Each Gene
He Died And Rose To Make You Clean
His Spirit Fills To Love That's Seen!

That's my King!

Christ Died And Rose So The Spirit Came
The Word In Human Flesh Became
That We Might All His Spirit Gain
God Abides In Us The Same
If In Us There's Spirit-Reign
Oh Fill Us! “Christ Is All!” Proclaim!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

Christ Is The Son The Father Sent
The Savior Of The World Who Went
To Die And Rise His Love Was Spent
God's Curse And Judgment Now Relent
Confess The Son – Believe, Repent
In Him You'll Love Without Extent!

That's my King!

Jesus Will Judge On Judgment Day
When All You've Done And Think And Say
Will Be Made Known In Full Array
Christ Died To Take Your Sins Away
And Rose To Cause You To Obey
Now Without Fear You'll Love His Way!

That's my King!

Jesus Loved His People First
For On That Cross He Died As Cursed
And Took God's Wrath When It Was Worst
In Love He Bled And Died With Thirst
But Then He Rose – The Curse Reversed
And Now Our Hearts With Love Will Burst!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

Jesus Loves The Ones Who Hate
They'd Mock And Spit And Pain Create
With Devils' Evil Him Equate
But Haters He'd Emancipate
He Died And Rose For Those Who Hate
There Is None Like Him – He Is Great!

That's my King! That's my King!

"That's My King!" In 1 John 3!

Jesus – The Father's Greatest Child
He's Perfect – On His Son God Smiled
Yet At The Cross He Was Reviled
And On His Back Our Sins Were Piled
He Was Forsaken And Exiled
But Rose To Conquer All That's Wild
In Christ We're Children – Reconciled
And Now On Us Our God Has Smiled!

That's my King!

Father And Son The World Didn't Know
But You His Child Will Surely Grow
Grace And Mercy He'll Bestow
Jesus Died And Was Brought Low
Then Rose On High God's Grace To Show
Reborn His Child You'll Face No Woe
So Look To Christ Let Mercy Flow
When He Appears You're Pure As Snow!

That's my King!

Jesus Never Practiced Sin
The Perfect Man Like None Have Been
In Him Redemption Does Begin
He Died And Rose To Conquer Sin
And Crush The Devil – Christ Will Win
In Christ You Have Your Father's Grin
Abide In Him And You Can't Sin!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him?!

The Christ Child Practiced All That's Right
He Loved His Brothers Out Of Sight
Though They Murdered And Would Fight
Yet On That Cross He'd Take Their Fright
Then Pass From Death To Life With Might
His Love's Our Never Ending Light!

That's my King!

Christ Loved All Others Like None Could
His Righteousness The Perfect Good
Laid Down His Life For Every Hood
Then Rose Again – On Death He Stood
So Love Our Brothers Now We Should
And Then We'll Reach Our Neighborhood!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

Jesus Loves In Truth And Deed
His Heart Cries Mercy For Our Need
He's Great And All Things He's Decreed
To Crush The Serpent He's the Seed
For On That Cross He'd Die And Bleed
And Then Arise From Death We're Freed
Believe The Son And His Word Heed
Obey And Love – Follow His Lead!

That's my King! That's my King!

When You See The Face Of Jesus Christ!

When you see Jesus Christ face to face . . .

the most beautiful sight you will ever see with your eyes

the most amazing sound you will ever hear with your ears

the greatest taste you will ever enjoy with your mouth (taste and see that the LORD is good!)

the most exhilarating sensation you will ever feel with your body

the most satisfying feeling you will ever have with your heart

the most peaceful thoughts you will ever have in your mind

the most joy you will ever have in your soul

the greatest strength you will ever receive

the deepest happiness that will ever captivate you

the most profound emotional, physical, spiritual, psychological, and relational experience you will ever have

the greatest love, compassion, truth, power, grace, and mercy you will ever have known

the most alive you will have ever felt

a greater ecstasy than you can ever dream or imagine

And all of this will only increase throughout all eternity as you gaze upon His lovely face!

Christ is all! That's my King! Come Lord Jesus!

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12

Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2

No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will worship Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:3-5

Then Rise And Conquer All Our Gloom
These Men Were Babies In The Womb!

That's my King! That's my King!

"That's My King!" In The Wilderness Temptations!

"It Is Written!" Was Jesus' Plea
To Make The Devil Turn And Flee
He Crushed The Serpent Like A Flea
Then Died And Rose To Set Us Free
Cast All Our Sins Into The Sea
We Worship Him On Bended Knee
And "It Is Written!" Was The Key!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him today?!

Jesus Conquered The Devil's Scheme
Though Tried And Tempted To Extreme
"It Is Written!" Was His Theme
And Then He Died And Rose Supreme
He Loved His People To Redeem
We Hold His Word In High Esteem!

That's my King! That's my King!

The Five Solas Of The Reformation

"Sola" is the Latin word for "alone" or "only". These are five major truths recovered through the Reformation, which really point us to the truth that salvation is through God alone:

1. Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”): Our final authority for the Christian faith and practice is God's Word alone:

Galatians 1:8-9: But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God(1 )may be competent, equipped for every good work.

2. Solus Christus (“Christ alone”): We are justified by Jesus Christ alone: He alone is our Lord, Savior, and King:

John 6:67-69: So Jesus said to the Twelve, "Do you want to go away as well?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

Acts 4:11-12: This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

3. Sola Gratia (“grace alone”): We are justified by the grace of God alone: we cannot work for it or earn it:

Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Romans 11:5-6: So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

4. Sola Fide (“faith alone”): We are justified through faith alone in Christ alone: we cannot add to what Christ did:

Romans 3:27-28: Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

Romans 4:4-8: Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;  8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."

5. Soli Deo Gloria (“God’s glory alone”): These truths and our whole lives should be lived for God’s glory alone:

Isaiah 48:9-11: For my name's sake I defer my anger, for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you off. Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My glory I will not give to another.

1 Timothy 1:17: To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

We Have No Where Else To Go - Christ!

John 6:68-69: Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life"

There's no one else to go to in order to be saved!

There's no one else to go to in order to be forgiven of all your sins!

There's no one else to go to in order to be counted righteous and accepted in God's sight!

There's no one else to go to in order to have all God's wrath, judgment, and condemnation removed from you forever!

There's no one else to go to in order to escape eternity in hell where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched!

There's no one else to go to in order to find peace with God!

There's no one else to go to in order to be reconciled to God!

There's no one else to go to in order to find eternal life and the words of eternal life!

There's no one else to go to in order to find fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore!

There's no one else to go to in order to find salvation, safety, and satisfaction!

There's no one else to go to in order to find help, hope, wholeness, and happiness!

There's no one else to go to in order to find love, light, and life!

There's no one else to go to in order to find Truth, tenderness, and to taste and see that the LORD is good!

There's no one else to go to in order to find all that you ever desired but that nothing in this life could ever satisfy!

There's no one else we can go to: no man; no woman; no children; no pastor; no president; no king; no other god; no job; no money; no fame; no drug; no stuff; no sport; no pleasure or joy in this world – nothing in this world or out of this world!

Only Jesus – to whom else shall we go? – to no one else except the LORD Jesus Christ!

That's my King! That's my King!

God Is Love!

God is love (1 John 4:8)

Just like God the Holy Spirit, in 1 Corinthians 13, describes love with numerous "love is" statements, the truth that "God is love" can be described by the numerous "God is" or "the LORD is" statements in the Bible:

The LORD is a man of war (Exodus 15:3)

The LORD is their inheritance (Deuteronomy 18:2)

God is your dwelling place (Deuteronomy 33:27)

The LORD is Peace (Judges 6:24)

God is my strong refuge (2 Samuel 22:33)

But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head (Psalm 3:3)

God is a righteous judge (Psalm 7:11)

The LORD is my shepherd (Psalm 23:1)

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear (Psalm 27:1)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1)

God is the King of all the earth (Psalm 47:7)

God is my helper (Psalm 54:4)

God is our salvation (Psalm 68:19)

God is a sun and shield (Psalm 84:11)

The LORD is my portion (Psalm 119:57)

GOD is my strength and my song (Isaiah 12:2)

GOD is an everlasting rock (Isaiah 26:4)

The LORD is our righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6)

God is spirit (John 4:24)

God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29)

God is light (1 John 1:5)

I AM the Bread of Life (John 6:35)

I AM the Light of the World (John 8:12)

I AM the Door of the sheep (John 10:7)

I AM the Good Shepherd (John 10:11)

I AM the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25)

I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6)

I AM the True Vine (John 15:1)

I AM (John 8:58)

The Spirit Glorifies Christ!

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones wrote:
The greatest test is that the true Spirit always glorifies Christ. Christ is always in the center; He is always given the preeminence. And the true prophet is not the man who talks about experiences and visions and what he has done and seen, but about Christ. And when you have heard Him you do not say, “What a wonderful man”; you say, “What a wonderful Savior!” You do not say, “What a wonderful experience this man has had”; you say, “Who is the Man of whom the Spirit is speaking?” The attraction is to Christ; the Spirit glorifies Christ.

Add Nothing To Christ!

J. C. Ryle wrote:
You may spoil the Gospel by substitution. You have only to withdraw from the eyes of the sinner the grand object which the Bible proposes to faith, - Jesus Christ; and to substitute another object in His place . . . and the mischief is done. Substitute anything for Christ, and the Gospel is totally spoiled! . . . You may spoil the Gospel by addition. You have only to add to Christ, the grand object of faith, some other objects as equally worthy of honor, and the mischief is done. Add anything to Christ, and the Gospel ceases to be a pure Gospel! . . . You may spoil the Gospel by interposition. You have only to push something between Christ and the eye of the soul, to draw away the sinner’s attention from the Savior, and the mischief is done . . . You may spoil the Gospel by disproportion. You have only to attach an exaggerated importance to the secondary things of Christianity, and a diminished importance to the first things, and the mischief is done. Once alter the proportion of the parts of truth, and truth soon becomes downright error!

Looking unto Jesus — Hebrews 12:2

Isaac Ambrose wrote:

The most excellent subject to discourse or write of is Jesus Christ. Augustine, having read Cicero's works, commended them for their eloquence; but he passed this sentence upon them: "They are not sweet because the name of Jesus is not in them." And Bernard's saying is near the same: "If thou writest, it doth not relish with me, unless I read Jesus there; if thou disputest or conferrest, it doth not relish well with me, unless Jesus [is found] there." Indeed all we say is but unsavory, if it is not seasoned with this salt: "I determined not to know any thing among you," saith Paul, "save Jesus Christ, and him crucified" (1Co 2:2). He resolved with himself before he preached among the Corinthians that this should be the only point of knowledge that he would profess himself to have skill in, and that, in the course of his ministry, he would labor to bring them to. This he made "the breadth, and length, and depth, and height" of his knowledge (Eph 3:18). "Yea, doubtless," saith he, "and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord" (Phi 3:8).

In this knowledge of Christ, there is an excellence above all other knowledge in the world. There is nothing more pleasing and comfortable, more animating and enlivening, more ravishing and soul contenting. Only Christ is the sun and center of all divinely revealed truths. We can preach nothing else as the object of our faith, as the necessary element of your soul’s salvation, which doth not some way or other either meet in Christ or refer to Christ. Only Christ is the whole of man's happiness: the Sun to enlighten him, the Physician to heal him, the Wall of fire to defend him, the Friend to comfort him, the Pearl to enrich him, the Ark to support him, the Rock to sustain him under the heaviest pressures, as "an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land" (Isa 32:2). Only Christ is that between earth and heaven, the Mediator between God and man (1Ti 2:5), a mystery, which the angels of heaven desire to pry, peep, and look into (1Pe 1:12) . . . we see that man is blind, and no sun but Christ can enlighten him; that man is naked, and no garment but Christ's can clothe him; that man is poor, and no treasure but Christ's can enrich him; that man is indebted, and none but Christ can make satisfaction for him; that man is empty, and none but Christ can fill him; that man is distressed, perplexed, tormented and none but Christ can quiet him. All this, and much more than this appears in the this glass of Jesus.

Christ Never Went Out From God's Good Way
His Father's Will He Did Obey

Now He Will Never Let Us Stray!
