Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah . . . has conquered . . . Revelation 5:5
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ . . . Galatians 6:14
You have been very angry with Your Anointed One. Psalm 89:38
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2

"That's My King!" Who Humbled Himself Small As The Servant Of All And Now Stands Tall As The Greatest Of All!

The disciples had a discussion on the way
The pride of their hearts it did betray
From the greatness of Christ they turned away
And when He asked “What?,” they would not say
For they knew in their hearts they'd gone astray
Pride and envy are man's bad way
On your soul these vipers prey
Vipers within – their venom spray
“Grant death to self!” is what we pray
For our Christ came all pride to slay
Through death He'd take this sin away
And rise in victory the third day
To save our souls from self decay
Enable us to love display
And turn from self – give all away
So trust in Him and then obey
For He was humble – showed the way
And died and rose our pride to slay
So “Christ is all!” we would display!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

If you want to be first, you must be last
So embrace with joy the lowest caste
Be servant of all regardless of class
Even to those sad, alone, and harassed
Then in God's sight as the first you'll stand fast
Because our great King took the greatest last
As Suff'ring Servant His love's unsurpassed
God spared Him no wrath, though He cried and asked
Then rose up alive – forgiving your past
Now rest in His love – an ocean vast!

That's my King!

A child is least they did believe
He said a child you must receive
In this a humble heart achieve
To all your pride you die and leave
To “Christ is all!” alone you cleave
For He was least, and He would grieve
Upon that cross God's wrath receive
And die with those who steal and thieve
Then rise your guilt to all relieve
If Him alone you would believe
He's greater than you can conceive!

That's my King!

Oh what a wonder – the incarnation
Where God made man His habitation
May it lead to worship and prostration
God became man in humble summation
Our Creator took upon Himself creation
To grant His people such a great salvation
As they nailed Him to the cross in utter degradation
He made their blood flow through heart circulation
He's the Servant beyond any explanation
Who humbled Himself beyond expectation
He's worthy of all our praise and adoration
For He rose the from grave – His Kingly coronation!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him?!

Christ Jesus Trust And Do Receive
Humbly Like A Child Believe
By This, True Greatness You’ll Achieve
Heaven’s Kingdom Joys Retrieve
No More Tears Or Pains You’ll Grieve
For Jesus Died And Rose To Heave
All Sins Into The Sea He’ll Leave
By Faith Alone All Wrath Relieved
We Love And Serve The Least Conceived
No Little Children We’ll Deceive
But To Our Christ Like Babies Cleave
Our Whole Lives For Good He’ll Weave
He Grants Us Pleasures None Conceive
He’s God The Son We Praise Believe!

That's my King! That's my King!

"That's My King!" Who Would Be Killed And Rise To Build His Church Fulfilled With People Thrilled!

The Son of Man God would deliver; Our God so loved as gracious Giver; At Christ's death the earth would shiver; His body dead without a quiver; Death's dark veil could be no dimmer; But Christ rose our bright hope's glimmer; New life He gives – a flowing river; All because God did deliver!
Into the hands of wicked men; They killed the Christ – the greatest sin; The worst evil that's ever been; Nothing worse we've done since then; Badder than all on CNN; And at the cross we said “Amen!”  For we killed God – it was our sin; But to our evil God said "When!" And since Christ died to rise again; Therefore this poem I can pen; To praise our God Who saves from sin!

That's my King!  Do you know Him?!

The Lord of all, vile hands would kill; Yet this fulfilled His Father's will; When on that cross Christ's blood they'd spill; God meant the cross for good to heal; Through what our Lord faced on that hill; So we rejoice for this ill; Since our redemption it did seal; His Spirit life in us did fill; The Son of Man did work until; God's wrath and storm of fury zeal; Was tamed – our Christ cried:  "Peace be still!"
Three days later He would rise; To save from all our sin and lies; And end our hopeless, dreaded cries; To be our everlasting prize; The God Who's infinite in size; He alone Who is all wise; He has supplies that will surprise; He has no limit like the skies; He does His will with no mere tries; The one who trusts Him never dies; Forevermore your joy flies; To reach the height of highest highs!

That's my King!  That's my King!

Christ Is Always First!

Richard Sibbes wrote:
We must know that all things are first in Christ, and then in us. God chose Him first, and then He chose us. God singled Him out to be the Savior, the second Adam, and He calls us in Christ.
Christ, being our surety, took our sins upon Him. We are justified, because He, by His resurrection, quit Himself from the guilt of our sins, as having paid the debt.
Christ is the first fruits of them that rise again (1 Cor. 15:20). We rise again because He is risen. Christ first ascended; we ascend in Christ. Christ is first loved; we are loved in the Beloved.
Christ is first blessed; we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:3). So, whatsoever is in us, we have it at the second hand. We have the Spirit in us, but He is first in Christ.
God hath put the Spirit in Christ, as the spring, as the second Adam, as a public person, that should receive the Spirit for us all. He is first in all things; Christ must have the preeminence.
He hath the preeminence in all, both before time, in time, and after time, in election, in whatsoever is done here in this world, and in glorification.
All is first in Christ, and then in us.
Richard Sibbes, “A Description of Christ,” in The Complete Works of Richard Sibbes, Volume 1, ed. Alexander Balloch Grosart (Edinburgh; London; Dublin: James Nichol; James Nisbet and Co.; W. Robertson, 1862), 18.

"That's My King!" Who's Is The God Who Can; Heal Uncontrollable, Sinful Man; And Forever Crush And Ban; The Devil's Wicked, Godless Plan!

The entire crowd was totally amazed
When on the God-Man their eyes gazed
Where all He went He stirred them crazed
And spoke so some of them were dazed
For He said He’d soon be raised
Then live to be forever praised
So stand in awe and be amazed!

A father distressed cries for his son
Who's been possessed since life's begun
The Devil's made his life undone
To save His life – they have found none
But now they've come unto God's Son
Whose face had shined just like the sun
This Christ can save the worst undone
Devils He came to crush and stun
He died and rose – His work is done
So to this Christ by faith let's run!

Help my unbelief was his humble cry
Though he believed doubts cloud the eye
He shows us how to pray thereby
And all our doubts and fears defy
Cast down our self-sufficient try
To Christ in weakness we must fly
He'll be our “all in all” supply
In Him your joys shall be so high
By faith the only limit's sky!

The Devil aims your hopes to kill
Destroy you – your life he'd steal
With fire and water – t'was his will
To crush this son with voices shrill
And crash his bones into a hill
But there's a God Who's full of zeal
Who has a plan He will fulfill
And He won't rest at all until
This Devil mad, His Son would kill
On Calvary's hill His blood He'd spill
There forsaken His voice was shrill
God crushed His Son – this was His will
But He's alive! – oh what a thrill!
So come to Him – your life He'll heal
And in your heart with joy fill!

The greatest of victories only happen through prayer
In this the disciples surely did err
For prayer is faith's highway to take you where
The power of God is always there
For on our God we cast every care
Since He's the One Who counts all our hair
In Jesus' name we end our prayer
For with Him no one can compare
His glory and beauty we must declare!

Jesus Christ is the God Who can
The only Savior of every man
He alone does the impossible plan
So be a follower – not a fan
He's the greatest before time began!

Christ Jesus Cast The Demon Out
And Heals The Sick, He’s God Devout
So Often We Are Weak Through Doubt
Faithless, Twisted, Cry, And Pout
But Christ Is Strong, A Rock Who’s Stout
He Died, The Sun Went Full Blackout
And All God’s Wrath He Did Burn Out
Then Rose Alive, “Death’s Dead!” We Shout
Through Faith Like Mustard Seeds That Sprout
Impossible Deeds We Bring About
According To His Will All-Out
Christ Ends Our Pain And Joy Drought
With Him No Pleasures Go Without
For All Our Enemies He’ll Rout
Christ Is Our Joy, Our All Straight-Out!

That's my King!  That's my King!

"That's My King!" Who Suffered Many Things And Final True Salvation Brings By Rising Up The King Of Kings!

The command to silence Jesus gave
Until He's raised up from the grave
For only through His death He'd save
And tread upon death's killing wave
The way to life He'd clear and pave
And all our condemnation waive
For though to sin we were a slave
We'd sin and lust and misbehave
Christ died and rose so God forgave
His Spirit makes us strong and brave
And leads us holy to behave
Since we're forevermore God's slave!

That's my King!

The three obey – their mouths they close
But Christ's good words a problem pose
Until the Son from the dead rose
How could Christ die? – this no one knows
Yet this is how God's story goes
A Suff'ring Servant Isaiah shows
He takes God's wrath – He's crushed with blows
And through His death evil's deposed
To save us from death's wicked lows
For us the Christ this suffering chose
And let Himself be stripped of clothes
Now all our sin He does expose
By faith in Him we find repose
For He the devil will oppose
And win the victory for all those
Who trust the Son for us He arose!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

Scribes say Elijah must come first
But Christ is here – was this reversed?
No – Elijah's come as it was versed
And Christ must die – receive the worst
For on that tree He would be cursed
And in God's wrath be all immersed
Then rise alive and death's grip burst
Earth's dreaded curse would be reversed
All broken hearts He'd have them nursed
And for this Christ alone we thirst!

That's my King!

To read the Bible as we should
We all must read as Jesus would
For how He reads is always good
Not wrong and blind under a hood
Interpreting as literal wood
So read like Christ just as you should
Then He won't be misunderstood!

That's my King!

The cross comes first and then the crown
For all glory our King's cast down
He Who is the greatest Noun
The greatest of all those around
He died to win a wedding gown
So down on us our God won't frown
For we've been lost but now we're found
Our God raised Jesus from the ground
And now His grace towards us abounds
His love forever will astound!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him today?!

Christ Jesus Told What Was To Come
Commanded Silence Keep It From
The Crowds Till Death Is Overcome
Elijah Restores All Things In Sum
John Beat The True Repentance Drum
And Was Struck Down Like Hated Scum
As Christ Would Die Like Sheep That’s Dumb
Under God’s Wrath He Would Succumb
Then Rise To Save His Chosen Some
Now Cruel Death Is Overcome
Christ Fills With Joy More Than Rum
He’s Worthy More Than All Income
So Praise His Name And To Him Come
Of Every Joy He’s The Sum!

That's my King! That's my King!

O JESUS, KING MOST WONDERFUL!

Sang this hymn for the first time ever in church today to the tune "O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing!"

This will sing or preach or both!

O Jesus, King most wonderful,
Thou Conqueror renowned,
Thou Sweetness most ineffable,
In Whom all joys are found!

When once Thou visitest the heart,
Then truth begins to shine,
Then earthly vanities depart,
Then kindles love divine.

O Jesus, Light of all below,
Thou Fount of life and fire,
Surpassing all the joys we know,
And all we can desire!

Thy wondrous mercies are untold,
Through each returning day;
Thy love exceeds a thousand fold,
Whatever we can say.

May every heart confess Thy Name;
And ever Thee adore;
And seeking Thee, itself inflame,
To seek Thee more and more.

Thee may our tongues forever bless;
Thee may we love alone;
And ever in our lives express
The image of Thine own.

"That's My King!" Whose Transfiguration Revealed His Glorification In A Bright Sensation As The Beloved Son Of All Adoration!

Jesus chose His witnesses three
Peter and James and John – not me
His choice is always wise and free
So trust His right and good decree
He took them up the mount to see
His glory bright – they'd all agree
To speak of death upon that tree
He's cast our sins into the sea
And then He rose to make death flee
So bow to Him on bended knee
And trust the Son – He'll set you free!

That's my King!

On that mount His clothes became the purest white
They shined and dazzled – a radiant bright
His face shined like the sun that ends the night
The scene made the three all tremble with fright
He's the God Who dwells in unapproachable light
His glory and beauty are clear out of sight
He alone heals your sick, sinful plight
He saves to the uttermost with powerful might
He's history's unconquerable, shining Knight
Who brings you to joy's unspeakable height
He's the God Who always does what's right
And He'll fill you with everlasting delight!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

Elijah and Moses show the end is near
Elijah must come for the Christ to appear
The Prophet like Moses will speak as God's Seer
In Jesus these fulfillments all are here
May God give you an ear that you might hear
May you turn to God's Christ and believe and fear
For He died on that cross and was stabbed with a spear
Then He rose from the dead and lives without peer
If you trust in Him with faith sincere
He'll save you from hell to a heavenly sphere
And He'll make you like Him to persevere!

That's my King!

Jesus is God's holy, beloved Son
He's in a class by Himself and second to none
After His face had shined like the sun
Only Jesus was left – the others were done
In Him God's redemption has begun
If by faith to His arms you'll freely run
You'll be saved in Christ, and you'll be God's son
He'll love you like Christ – He'll never shun
His love for you cannot be outdone
May this truth your heart forever stun
As you find your delight in the face of the Son!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him today?!

Christ Jesus Shone Bright At The Transfiguration
Strong As The Sun His Face Alteration
His Clothes A White Light Beauty Manifestation
God Pulled Back The Veil Of His Glorification
And Showed Us His Glory For A Short Duration
Moses And Elijah Were There In Grand Conversation
Peter’s Stunned And Stammers About Tent Accommodation
The Father Speaks About His Beloved Son’s True Relation
I’m Pleased With Him! Listen To All His Communication!
The Disciples Fall Down In Shock-Fear Combination
Christ Comforts “Fear Not!” With A Touch Affirmation
They Lift Up Their Eyes To See Jesus Only: Salvation
For He Would Go Die As Our Propitiation
Then Rise Up Alive For Our Justification
To Be Our All Only: Our Life Celebration
So Praise And Worship Him With True Adoration!

That's my King! That's my King!

"That's My King!" Who sent John Piper to preach "CHRIST IS ALL!"

he preached the GOD Who is not small!

he made CHRIST known by arcing Paul!

he lived war-time – the thrift store mall!

he preached for babies – life for all!

he preached all races – one stand tall!

he preached the cross – Christ's death – the gall!

For on that tree God's wrath did fall!

And our Christ rose death to recall!

he preached the Christ Who does enthrall!

"Delight in God!" was his great call!

I'm so thankful for your pastoral call!

Like no other you showed me CHRIST IS ALL!

I love you Pastor John!  Keep preaching Him up!

"That's My King!" Whose Kingdom Mighty Came, Above All Powers He Would Claim, And Every One Of Earth's Kings Tame For The Glory And Fame Of His Beautiful Name!

What Jesus says will always go
And all He says – it will be so
His Words are right so long ago
With truth and grace they always flow
And when this world is gone with woe
His Words will stand – forever sow
He'll conquer every doubting foe
All to His grace our praise we owe
For on that cross His love He'd show
And rise again so we could know
Salvation's gift on us bestow
Then by His Word we'll daily grow!

That's my King!

All the Bible is true and clear
For our God spoke to bring us near
All Words are true and do cohere
Don't doubt His Word and from Him veer
God's Word came down – He did appear
And died and rose to save from fear
His love and beauty have no peer
So give Him your attentive ear
He'll save you from judgment severe
And grant you life with joyous cheer
If Him by faith you'll trust sincere!

That's my King! Do you know Him?!

Some truths God spoke are hard to understand
Our sinful minds, His truth withstand
Our wants and wishes we demand
And for this sin the cross was planned
Christ died and rose at God's command
Triumphant over death He'll stand
His Kingdom will ever expand
He'll hold us in His strong right hand
He's all the glory in this land!

That's my King!

Some standing there would no death taste
Until God's Kingdom came with haste
The meaning of this must be traced
Is Christ transfigured a foretaste?
Is this the cross where He's disgraced?
His rising where all death's erased?
Or Pentecost – the Spirit's placed?
Or when the temple is defaced?
On all these truths His Kingdom's based
The greatest foes our King has faced
And crushed the evils we've embraced
So with salvation we'll be graced
And be all cleansed and pure and chaste
To never more be dead disgraced!

That's my King!

Be assured of this –  His Kingdom came with power
And there's more to come at this age's last hour
Over all authorities our King will tower
All those who reject Him from His wrath they'll cower
But on His beloved children – blessings He'll shower
He'll take all in your life that's been sad or sour
And turn it for joy like a blooming flower
All enemies against you He'll finally devour
For He's the greatest of the greats – the world Superpower!

That's my King! I wonder if you know Him today?!

Christ Jesus Someday Will Return
With Father’s Glory To Confirm
We Are His, Repay In Turn
For What We’ve Done For Him Affirm
We’re Saved Since Christ Got What We’d Earn
For Sin We All Deserve To Burn
But Jesus Died And Rose To Turn
God’s Wrath Away From Us We Learn
He Is Our Savior So Discern
Make Him Our Deep And Great Concern
He Is Our All! For Him We Yearn!

That's my King! That's my King!
